Metta Meditation Series 2

Jim Kramer

Practicing Metta meditation improves a person’s mind state and has lasting and profound emotional, physical, and spiritual benefits. Through scientific research, Metta meditation, or loving-kindness,  has been shown to decrease migraines, chronic pain, and symptoms of depression and PTSD. It increases compassion and feelings of  empathy, as well as decreases criticism of self and others. It can even positively affect the aging process and makes you more resilient to stress.

Each session includes a guided loving-kindness meditation, short discussion on a mindful element of loving-kindness, a handout and time to ask questions. To begin, you can attend series 1 or 2: the mindful elements covered are different but the format is the same.

About Jim Kramer

Jim Kramer has served as a teacher and guidance counselor for over 20 years, most recently in the McFarland school district. Jim uses the “Five S’s of Leadership” students/school, service, senior citizens, staff and student council to mentor student leaders within the community. Jim has meditated for over ten years in Compassion and Loving-Kindness based practices. He brings his depth of experience in compassion, communication and meditation to this simple, practical meditation practice.
