The principles the Buddha taught 2,500 years ago have led to happier lives for countless human beings, and apply today more than ever to reduce stress and uncertainties, and to provide peace and mental stability. We believe all beings are the same in their desire to be happy and not to suffer needlessly. Buddhism teaches that the mind is the cause of most of our problems, but can eliminate them, as well, through study and meditation.
Whether you are just curious, a total beginner or an experienced practitioner, you are invited to join us to discuss Buddhist concepts in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The group uses a reference text, currently Thubten Chodron’s, “Guided Meditations on the Stages of the Path,” and discusses a chapter or concept each week. There is an emphasis on practical application of the concepts, but theory is also discussed.
